In the city of Surprise, the municipality is working closely with Scottsdale-based SimonCRE and Carefree Partners for a large portion of its mixed-use downtown core, starting with the 70,000-square-foot Elm Street at Surprise Center. SimonCRE, which is also developing the Prasada and Asante retail hubs in Surprise, has already opened Better Buzz Coffee Roasters and Cafe Zupas, while other tenants planned this year include Mission BBQ, Farmer Boys, a Marriott Springhill Suites hotel, Osteria Mia, and more.
