New Commercial Development adds Verizon Wireless in Kirksville, MO

A new commercial development for Verizon Wireless is coming to Kirksville, Mo., with construction slated to begin this January.

SimonCRE, a commercial real estate development firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona, is spearheading the site acquisition, development, and construction efforts of the project. The Verizon Wireless store will be operated by Cellular Connections, a premium retail dealer of Moorehead Communications, and will be built at the intersection of State Highway 6 and 63 next to Walmart. The new location is expected to open in late spring.

Joshua Simon, president of SimonCRE, is overseeing all aspects of the development including purchasing approximately one-half acre of land from Walmart for the new project. SimonCRE specializes in shopping center development and caters to regional brands looking to expand their reach. The firm has completed projects across the United States and is currently working on developments from California to Florida. This is the fourth Verizon Wireless store for SimonCRE with other locations previously developed in Oregon, Iowa and Michigan.

Cellular Connections has a current location on Baltimore Street in Kirksville and is moving into the larger space upon completion. Parent company, Moorehead Communications, is the nations largest independent Verizon Wireless dealer with more than 850 stores covering 27 states.

“The location of the new store will be extremely convenient for many people in Kirksville since it is located next to the mass retailing giant, Walmart,” says Simon on the new project. “There has been a significant amount of planning that has gone into this new store which is allowing us to break ground quickly. As long as the weather holds, we will begin construction right away. Our goal is to have this new location fully serving the community this spring.”
