Popular Chicago pizzeria Lou Malnati’s has released a more details about the company’s upcoming fourth Arizona location.
The Business Journal first reported that Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria would open a new delivery- and takeout-only location at 75th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane just north of Loop 101 in Glendale.
The company has now given a rough timeframe for the opening, saying it would be ready to go in “early spring 2020,” according to an announcement release. Construction is set to start this winter.
The new location, which will be 2,000 square feet, will employ around 50 people. The company will hold a hiring event prior to the opening.
Lou Malnati’s opened its first location outside of Chicago in Arizona in May 2016. The company’s CEO, Marc Malnati, said in statement that Glendale and Phoenix’s West Valley have long been part of the company’s expansion plans.
“Since our first location opened in Arizona, we’ve been welcomed with open arms and are so grateful to our loyal fan base,” Malnati said in a statement. “Our team is excited to head west within the Valley and make a home in the vibrant and thriving city of Glendale.”
Lou Malnati’s will be part of a small, 10,000-square-foot retail center being developed by Scottsdale commercial real estate developer SimonCRE.
SimonCRE CEO Joshua Simon told the Business Journal that he is still working to lease the property. Besides Lou Malnati’s he has signed coffee and donut chain Dunkin’ to open a drive-thru location.
